About Kelly Picone

Born and raised on Long Island, I started my career right out of college as an administrative assistant to the publisher of a B2B magazine group in New York City. Eight years and several promotions later, I was the marketing manager of eight trade magazines. While I was good at my job, I wasn’t fulfilled. At that time, I was selected by my global organization to participate in a two-year leadership development program and this experience changed my life. Not only did it help me realize my own passion & ability for leadership, but it pointed me in the direction of my new career path. I left my position in New York City and moved to Buffalo, NY to pursue my master’s degree in Adult Education and HR Development. Twenty years later I am still in Buffalo, married with 2 teenagers, a Berna doodle and a career I love.

Over the last 20 years, I have been working with leaders in large organizations to create environments that allow individuals to shine. I have developed, facilitated and administered leadership development programs geared at all levels of leadership from new aspiring leaders to executives. I’ve coached leaders on building self-awareness and leadership effectiveness through multiple personality assessments and 360s. I’ve consulted with teams on how to handle conflict, manage through change and improve engagement. I’ve designed listening strategies with corresponding action plans to maintain a healthy culture. I’m also a passionate facilitator who loves to lead discussions around authenticity, self-awareness, introversion and extraversion, building trust in our relationships and empowerment.

When I’m not working, I’m “ubering” my teenagers around town, cooking healthy meals and recording songs!
